clover

today clover (and my mom and dad) walked me to school (pre-school). I was so proud to have clover with me. When I saw my friend Susan, the crossing guard, I just pointed to clover and smiled. When I saw my friend Janice, the other crossing guard, I just pointed to clover and smiled. Sometimes no words are needed. Sometimes when we see people my dad just points to me and smiles.

my first slumber party

I hosted my very first slumber party last night - and with my LC boyfriends, Ellery and Harrison (H-ie). It was a wild night, to say the least. But once story time rolled around, we were calm. Look at the level of concentration Daddy's storytelling inspires!

I'm THREE!

I had a great birthday party at "my" park yesterday. All my best friends were there to play and eat cupcakes with me. I got some great presents including a super fun tent from Gram and Nick, a dalmation toy from Emma and Grey, and a fabulous dress from Pops and Noni.

So, in case you're wondering, I'm a big kid now. No more diapers. No more baby toys (except when I'm playing pretend). The other day, my mama called me a "little charmer." I quickly corrected her - "No, mama. I'm a BIG charmer!" You can call me a preschooler but definitely NOT a toddler. Fortunately for my parents, I still love to cuddle.

one cost of exuberance

This morning, as usual, I was excited. I was very excited to see Lissy walking Nandini and Lila to pre-school. I waved to them from across the street.

When we got into the school, I showed them that one of the trucks was broken. I said, "Look! The truck is broken."

Nandini said with ennui, "Yeah, we know."

It made me feel a bit sad that she was not interested and that she seemed tired of my input.

But, such is life; hopefully I won't get so jaded as I get older.

silly 1am converstation

After waking up in the middle of the night- a conversation took place something like:

Ella: "is that daddy?"
Daddy: "yes"
"did you go sailing?"
"yes"
"were there waves?"
"Little waves"
"did you fall in the water"
"No, there were just small waves."
"Oh"
"where's the boat? Is it in the water?"
"No, its on a dock. It's out of the water."
"is it in the yard? is it ok?"
"its on a dock-- on some wood. it's ok."
"Oh"
"did you have have fun?"
"yes"
"were there lots of people there?"
"Yes, there were lots of people sailing"
"Oh"
"Sometime I go sailing with you?"
"Yeah, I want to take you with me some time."
"Yeah, that would be fun."
"Yeah."
